After months of speculation as to when Derbyshire's latest McDonald's will open, it's now been confirmed that Wednesday, September 29 is the open date.
The restaurant, located on West Bars roundabout in Chesterfield, is on the site of a former multi-storey car park and will be open for people to dine-in, takeaway and drive-thru.
Along with the announcement of the opening date, it's also been confirmed that 65 new jobs will be created for local people to work at the new site.
The restaurant is owned and operated by McDonald’s franchisee Walter Wright he said: “We are delighted to be opening another brand-new McDonald’s restaurant in Chesterfield and can’t wait to see local customers, both new and old, enjoy our services on offer.
"People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create. We’re committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality.”
It's going to become Chesterfield's third McDonald's along with the 24-hour drive-thru at Alma Retail Park and the Low Pavements restaurant in the town centre.
McDonald's have said the new facility will have all the latest innovations, including table service and self-service kiosks.
Smart Digital drive-thru boards will also be installed.
Customers will also be able to order their food via the My McDonald's App, meaning you can order your food contact-free and choose to either dine-in, takeaway or drive-thru.
Work on the new restaurant, as you can see from our video, is ongoing but the finishing touches are being applied to the building with two weeks to go before it opens its doors for the first time.
