On the lead up to this Mother’s Day we’re on the lookout for Derbyshire’s best mum for some awards only comparable to the Brits (in spirit at least)… Introducing “The Mum Awards!"

We've got three categories for Derbyshire best mum for:
We’re looking for that special mum that participates in
everything, supporting at every opportunity, even if it’s
sometimes a little bit embarrassing.
This year's winner is: Stephanie Barron
As nominated by their daughter: Emma Barron
What Emma said about her mum: “She’s a mother of three daughters with health issues, fostered many children with disabilities, doctor for the NHS in charge of staff welfare and works supporting other mums recovering from drug addictions.”
It’s been a tough period recently, and single mums have really
had to pull their supermum capes out! We want to recognise
Derbyshire’s most wonderful single parent.
This year's winner is: Helen Guest
As nominated by their son: Jake Ashmore
What Jake said about his mum: “My single mother (42) has, over the past year has been through so much; separation due to her partner having an affair, starting a new job, so so much, all while looking after me(18) and my sister(11).”
This is the big one! We’re looking for a Derbyshire mum that’s
really gone above and beyond this year.
This year's winner is: Anne Wharmby
As nominated by their daughter: Ebony Pascall
What Ebony said about her mum: “She not only battles with her own illness, she works full time caring for others (proud nhs worker), she looks after her own sick mum and her children. I don’t know how she manages to give so much!”
Note: The winners will be selected after 18:00 on 23rd of March by a vote of a small panel, made up of Peak Radio Limited staff and independent individuals. Peak Radio Limited has partnered with Nonnas of Chesterfield to run this campaign.
